Disney’s live-action adventure Mulan has just released a teaser trailer and teaser poster. Plus, the Mouse House is showing off new photos from the 2020 film based on the narrative poem “The Ballad of Mulan.”
Mulan stars Yifei Liu as Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan, and Yoson An as Cheng Honghui. Gong Li is Xianniang and Jet Li plays the Emperor.
Niki Caro (Whale Rider, McFarland USA) directed from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek. Jason Reed, Chris Bender and Jake Weiner produced, with Barrie M. Osborne, Tim Coddington, Bill Kong executive producing.
The animated version arrived in June 1998 and featured the voices of Ming-Na Wen, BD Wong, Eddie Murphy, James Shigeta, Miguel Ferrer, Harvey Fierstein and Pat Morita. The film scored a $22 million opening weekend domestically, and went on to gross $304 million worldwide before exiting theaters.
Disney’s set a March 27, 2020 theatrical release date for the live-action dramatic adventure.
