The Muppets finally got what they deserve: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At a ceremony held March 20, 2012 (the same day as the release of The Muppets on Blu-ray and DVD) in front of El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Blvd., The Muppets stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, Animal, and Walter joined Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross, Jim Henson Company CEO Lisa Henson, and The Muppets writer James Bobin for the special unveiling of the 2,466th star on the Walk of Fame.

“Thanks to creative genius Jim Henson and these extraordinary puppeteers, the Muppets are truly worldwide icons and Hollywood stars,” said Ross. “They are a treasured part of the Disney family, and we’re thrilled to see them join so many other luminaries on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
