My Valentine From Paul McCartney Screening News

Sir Paul McCartney’s directorial debut, My Valentine, made its theatrical debut this weekend, screening before showings of The Weinstein Company’s The Intouchables. The black & white three minute short film starring Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp is set to McCartney’s song from his Kisses on the Bottom album.

Stella McCartney came up with the idea for the short film which finds Portman and Depp using sign language to bring the song’s story to life. Depp also performs a guitar solo (which was recorded live) in the short film.

Commenting on McCartney’s film, TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein, “What an honor it is to have Paul’s short film directorial debut on the head of The Intouchables showings. Paul and Stella are great old friends. He was the first musician to say yes to perform at the 9/11 concert for New York, which I produced along with our friends John Sykes and Jim Dolan. Stella had a wonderful idea when she thought this song would translate well into a film[…].”

My Valentine was shot on 35MM film, produced by Susanne Preissler, and edited by Paul Martinez.
