Do not fall down the rabbit hole and read the YouTube comments for the final Other Mommy trailer. For some bizarre reason, commenters have focused on the McDonald’s ball pit, which is a really weird thing to call out in a trailer for a horror film about an evil entity.
Oscar winner Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) leads a cast that includes Jay Duplass (Transparent), Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid), Dichen Lachman (Severance), Arian Moayed (Succession), and Karen Allen (Indiana Jones films).
Universal Pictures’ synopsis reads:

Other Mommy is based on Josh Malerman’s bestselling Incidents Around the House. WGA winner Nathan Elston adapted Malerman’s novel and Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) directs. Executive producers include Malerman, Savage, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Ryan Lewis.
Universal Pictures is releasing Other Mommy in theaters on October 9, 2026.
