‘Peter Rabbit’ Introduces a New Trailer and Poster

Sony Pictures Animation debuted a new trailer for the live-action/CG animated comedy, Peter Rabbit, based on the classic characters created by Beatrix Potter. The two and a half minute trailer finds Peter Rabbit and his animal friends taking on a newcomer to the neighborhood, the animal-hating Mr. McGregor. The studio also released a new theatrical poster featuring the beloved rabbit resting on a bed of carrots.

The family-friendly film was directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits) and Gluck co-wrote the screenplay with Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day). The talented cast includes James Corden as Peter Rabbit, Domhnall Gleeson (Goodbye Christopher Robin) as Mr. McGregor, Rose Byrne (Neighbors, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks) as Bea, Margot Robbie (I, Tonya, Suicide Squad) as Flopsy, Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) as Mopsy, and Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Murder on the Orient Express) as Cottontail.

The film’s animal creatures were brought to life by the Australian animation and visual FX production studio Animal Logic. Writer/director Will Gluck and Animal Logic’s Zareh Nalbandian produced the film, with Doug Belgrad, Jodi Hildebrand, and Jason Lust serving as executive producers.

Sony Pictures is planning a February 9, 2018 theatrical release.

The Plot: Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Byrne). James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm.
