Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Bond

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, October 5, 2012 has been designated Global James Bond Day. And in support of that important date, the documentary Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 is airing tonight at 8pm ET on EPIX.

Other Bond anniversary events include a film retrospective at The Museum of Modern Art in New York as well as a Music of Bond Night hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in LA.

The UK’s celebrating with a James Bond memorabilia auction at Christie’s (all the proceeds go to benefit UNICEF and other charitable causes), and Bond theme songs will be played on radio stations worldwide. In addition, pre-release tickets go on sale for the upcoming 23rd Bond movie, Skyfall.

The Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 documentary was directed by Stevan Riley (Fire In Babylon) and “goes inside the James Bond legend to uncover how a series of spy stories by Ian Fleming became Hollywood gold, and how film producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman helped create one of the most iconic franchises in cinema history.”
