Walt Disney Animation Studios has just released a new two-minute teaser trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. The new trailer finds Ralph and Vanellope exploring the internet and, of course, causing problems. Directed by Rich Moore (Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph) and Phil Johnston (co-writer Wreck-It Ralph, Cedar Rapids, co-writer Zootopia), the Wreck-It Ralph sequel is set to open in theaters on November 21, 2018.
The voice cast is led by John C. Reilly as Ralph and Sarah Silverman as Vanellope von Schweetz. It also includes Taraji P. Henson, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch. Co-director Phil Johnston and Pamela Ribon wrote the screenplay.
“To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore. Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way,” stated director Rich Moore back in March 2017.
Wreck-It Ralph earned an Oscar nomination as well as a Golden Globe nomination. The animated comedy picked up a PGA Award for outstanding producer and earned five Annie Awards including best animated feature, director, screenplay, and actor. The Broadcast Film Critics Association named it the Best Animated Feature Film and the 2012 comedy scored a Kids’ Choice Award for favorite animated movie.
The Plot: Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet — which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush.
In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
