‘Reinventing Elvis’ Trailer: Lifts the Curtain on Elvis’ ’68 Special

Paramount+’s Reinventing Elvis: The ’68 Comeback documentary goes behind the scenes of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s pivotal 1968 television special. The trailer reveals new interview footage with the director of Elvis Presley’s comeback special who provides a unique perspective into Presley’s state of mind leading up to the career-resurrecting special.

The feature-length documentary will air on Paramount+ on Tuesday, August 15, one day prior to the 46th anniversary of Presley’s death.

Directed by John Scheinfeld (The U.S. vs. John Lennon, What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat and Tears), the documentary’s produced by Spencer Proffer’s Meteor 17, with Steve Binder and Bruce Gilmer executive producing.

Told from the unique perspective of Emmy Award-winning television director Steve Binder, em>Reinventing Elvis: The ’68 Comeback features interviews with Elvis experts and recollections from those who attended the special in-person, as well as all-new versions of iconic Elvis hits interpreted by contemporary musicians, including superstar Darius Rucker, Latin GRAMMY winner Maffio, and America’s Got Talent finalist Drake Milligan.
