Shailene Woodley Talks About ‘The Fault in Our Stars’

Shailene Woodley’s breakthrough role came in 2011’s The Descendants in which she played George Clooney’s young daughter. The film, directed by Alexander Payne, won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and the cast earned Screen Actors Guild and Critics’ Choice Movie Awards nominations. Shailene Woodley was also singled out for her performance, earning Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations and wins in that category at the Spirit Awards and from the National Board of Review.

Since the release of The Descendants, Woodley’s gone on to earn praise in The Spectacular Now as well as the film adaptation of the first book in Veronica Roth’s young adult series, Divergent.

Shailene Woodley continues to show she’s a force to be reckoned with her starring role in The Fault in Our Stars. Based on the bestselling book by John Green, The Fault in Our Stars finds Woodley playing a teenager with cancer who falls for a handsome young man who’s also engaged in his own battle with the disease. And in our interview, Woodley talks about tackling roles based on popular books and just how faithful The Fault in Our Stars movie is to Green’s novel. She also discusses reuniting with Ansel Elgort who played her brother in Divergent and is her love interest in The Fault in Our Stars.
