‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ Debuts a New Clip and Poster

Mila Kunis (A Bad Moms Christmas) and two-time Emmy Award winner Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) hop in a cab and convince the driver to flee from men shooting at them in the new video clip from The Spy Who Dumped Me. The one-minute video featuring a wild chase scene was unveiled a month out from the film’s theatrical release.

The Spy Who Dumped Me was directed by Susanna Fogel (Life Partners) from a script Fogel co-wrote with David Iserson. The cast also includes Sam Heughan (Outlander), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Hasan Minhaj (Rough Night), and Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim: Uprising).

Director Fogel’s behind the scenes team includes director of photography Barry Peterson, editor Jonathan Schwartz, production designer Marc Homes, and costume designer Alex Bovaird. Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins produced the comedy film.

Lionsgate is targeting an August 3, 2018 theatrical release. That August date puts it up against a crowded field of new releases that includes the sci-fi thriller The Darkest Minds and Disney’s Christopher Robin starring Robin Williams and all of the classic Winnie the Pooh characters. The thriller Searching with John Cho and Debra Messing also will be opening in theaters on that date.

The Plot: The film tells the story of Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon), thirty-year-old best friends from Los Angeles, who are unexpectedly thrust into an international conspiracy when Audrey’s ex-boyfriend (Justin Theroux) shows up at her apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail. Much to their own surprise, the duo jump into action, and find themselves on the run in Europe from the assassins and a suspiciously charming British agent (Sam Heughan), as they hatch a plan to save the world.
