You can bet there were people tuning into Monday Night Football on October 19, 2015 who normally wouldn’t be into watching the NFL, just to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ full trailer. Disney and Lucasfilm announced the trailer’s premiere a day in advance, building up the anticipation for what Star Wars fans hoped would be a trailer full of clues about new characters as well as the return of familiar faces including Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. Star Wars fans weren’t disappointed as the new full-length trailer provided clips with new characters played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega as well as a glimpse of Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2D2, and Chewbacca.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens also features Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
