DC Studios’ official Superman trailer is loaded with action but still makes time for multiple clips of Lois Lane conducting a contentious interview with the superhero. Lois’ questions lead to Superman insisting he didn’t illegally enter a country but instead stopped a war and saved countless lives. The three-minute trailer also features a little Krypto action, Green Lantern swatting an enemy, Hawkgirl ready for a fight, and a lot of Lex Luthor smirking.
David Corenswet stars as Superman / Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan is Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion is Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, Isabela Merced is Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, and Skyler Gisondo plays Jimmy Olsen. Edi Gathegi is Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan is Rex Mason / Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría is Angela Spica / The Engineer, Sara Sampaio plays Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce is Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince is Pa Kent, and Neva Howell is Ma Kent.
“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” reads DC Studios’ synopsis.
James Gunn wrote, directed, and produced the much-anticipated new take on the iconic comic book character. Peter Safran also serves as a producer, with Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther executive producing. Gunn’s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, and composer John Murphy. William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert are the editors.
