If you take away nothing else from the Superman sneak peek, at least appreciate that Krypto acts like every other dog would when their owner’s lying on the ground. The nearly five-minute video shows Krypto jumping all over an injured Superman and then dragging him into the Fortress of Solitude. The sneak peek also shows a little Superman and Lois Lane action, a few snippets of Lex Luthor, and robots healing the critically injured superhero.
David Corenswet (Twisters) leads the cast as Superman / Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (Nosferatu) stars as Lex Luthor. Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind) plays Mr. Terrific, Isabela Merced (Alien Romulus) is Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion (The Rookie) is Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza) is Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio (At Midnight) is Eve Teschmacher, María Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys) is Angela Spica / The Engineer, and Wendell Pierce (Selma) is Perry White. Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box), and Neva Howell (Greedy People) also star.
“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” reads Warner Bros. Pictures synopsis.
Gunn wrote, directed, and serves as a producer. Peter Safran also produces, with Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther executive producing. Gunn’s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, and composer John Murphy. William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert are the editors.
Superman opens in theaters on July 11, 2025.
