A New Trailer Signals the Arrival of The Signal

The details were vague in the marketing email announcing the arrival of The Signal‘s trailer, and in fact I was initially leery of clicking on the link which followed this wording:

Hello,

I have reason to believe you have encountered THE SIGNAL. Please review the information below for more details regarding your condition.

I must warn you – some of the information you are about to access might be a bit disturbing.”

The link was safe and actually the email was a smart move as it piqued my interest more so than the standard, “Here’s a trailer…blah, blah, blah…” And, fortunately, The Signal‘s trailer is worthy of checking out.

Co-written and directed by Willam Eubank, the sci-fi film stars Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp, Laurence Fishburne, Lin Shaye, Robert Longstreet, and Jeffrey Grover. Focus Features is releasing The Signal in theaters on June 13, 2014.

The Plot:

Three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour: the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an eerily isolated area. Suddenly everything goes dark. When one of the students, Nic (Brenton Thwaites of The Giver and Maleficent), regains consciousness, he is in a waking nightmare…
