The film also stars Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, and Jeanté Godlock. Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, and Oprah Winfrey also star.

The Six Triple Eight is inspired by the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII. Despite facing racism and sexism – and grueling working conditions – they were committed to serving their country with honor and distinction,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Given an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes delivered hope and shattered barriers.”

Perry wrote and directed the drama, based Kevin M. Hymel’s “Fighting A Two-Front War” article in the WWII History Magazine by Sovereign Media. Perry, Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, Tony L. Strickland, Keri Selig, and Carlota Espinosa served as producers. Kerry Washington and Peter Guber executive produced.

The Six Triple Eight will open in select theaters on December 6, 2024, followed by a release on Netflix on December 20th.
