Tom Hiddleston Talks ‘The Pirate Fairy’ and Playing Captain Hook

Tom Hiddleston lends his voice to the Disneytoon Studios animated movie The Pirate Fairy coming to theaters next year. Hiddleston could pretty much read a phone book and I’d listen to him, but with The Pirate Fairy he gets to voice a character much more interesting than a list of names and numbers: Hiddleston is voicing a young Captain Hook.

In this video courtesy of Disney, Hiddleston talks about the Pirate Fairy story, his childhood memories of writing plays and ending up the bad guy and being part of the long line of actors who’ve taken on the role of Hook.

The Plot: When a misunderstood dust-keeper fairy named Zarina (Christina Hendricks) steals Pixie Hollow’s all-important Blue Pixie Dust, and flies away to join forces with the pirates of Skull Rock, Tinker Bell, and her fairy friends must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to return it to its rightful place. However, in the midst of their pursuit of Zarina, Tink’s world is turned upside down. She and her friends find that their respective talents have been switched and they have to race against time to retrieve the Blue Pixie Dust and return home to save Pixie Hollow.

With comedy, heart, and epic thrills for the whole family, The Pirate Fairy sets sail Spring 2014. (Directed by Peggy Holmes)
