Audrie and Daisy Poster

Singer-songwriter Tori Amos explains why she was inspired to write “Flicker” for the documentary, Audrie & Daisy, in a new featurette in support of the film’s September 23, 2016 release. Amos also discusses why she believes Audrie & Daisy is such an important film in the just-released video. The documentary, which had a successful film festival run earlier this year, will air on Netflix as well as in limited theaters simultaneously. Directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk (The Island President, The Rape of Europa), the documentary was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Per Netflix, a portion of the money earned from the song will be donated to a cause near and dear to Amos’ heart, RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network.

Synopsis: Audrie & Daisy is an urgent real-life drama that examines the ripple effects on families, friends, schools and communities when two underage young women find that sexual crimes against them have been caught on camera. From acclaimed filmmakers Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, the film takes a hard look at America’s teenagers who are coming of age in this new world of social media bullying, spun wildly out of control.
