‘UFO’ Official Trailer Starring Gillian Anderson and Alex Sharp

Alien spaceships buzz airports and are trying to communicate using math in the first official trailer for the sci-fi film, UFO. Sony’s releasing the drama straight-to-video, bypassing a theatrical release. The two-minute trailer confirms that was the right move on the studio’s part.

Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) returns to the world of strange otherworldly phenomena with a starring role in the home video release. The cast of UFO also includes Alex Sharp (How to Talk to Girls at Parties), Ella Purnell (Sweetbitter, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), and Oscar nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck). Ryan Eslinger (When a Man Falls in the Forest) wrote and directed the sci-fi thriller.

UFO was produced by Jeffery Sharp, Tom Rice, and Evan Hayes, with Jim Kohlberg, Siegfried Harris, and Dan Kaplow serving as executive producers. Eslinger’s behind the scenes team includes director of photography Ryan Samul, editor Brendan Walsh, and production designer Jennifer Klide.

Sony Home Entertainment will be releasing UFO on video on September 4, 2018.

The Plot: Derek (Alex Sharp) a brilliant college student, haunted by a childhood UFO sighting, believes that mysterious sightings reported at multiple airports across the United States are UFO’s. With the help of his girlfriend, Natalie (Ella Purnell), and his advanced mathematics professor, Dr. Hendricks (X-Files’ Gillian Anderson), Derek races to unravel the mystery with FBI special agent Franklin Ahls (David Strathairn) on his heels.
