Netflix’s Unabomber revisits Ted Kaczynski’s past, exploring a key period in his life that could have contributed to him becoming a serial bomber. The just-released trailer focuses on Kaczynski’s time spent undergoing experiments during his college years.
Jacob Tremblay stars as the titular character, Russell Crowe plays Professor Henry Murray, and Shailene Woodley is FBI Agent Joanne Miller. Annabelle Wallis, Alexander Ludwig, Steven Ogg, and Marc Menchaca also star.
Unabomber premieres on Netflix on September 25, 2026.
“Inspired by true events, Unabomber follows Ted Kaczynski’s transformation from 16-year-old Harvard prodigy into the infamous Unabomber,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Subjected to controversial psychological experiments by Professor Henry Murray, Kaczynski’s troubled past resurfaces decades later when his manhunt, led by FBI agent Joanne Miller, brings to light the chilling consequences of ambition and isolation.”
Kaczynski was ultimately arrested by the FBI in 1996 following a tip from his brother, David.
Janus Metz directs from a screenplay by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves. Sophie Cassidy serves as a producer, and Chalsen, Greaves, and Donald J. Lee executive produce.
