Riddick: Furya, the fourth film of Vin Diesel’s sci-fi franchise, has a confirmed start of production date. Rocket Science announced filming is expected to get underway on August 26, 2024, with filming taking place in Germany, Spain, and the UK.

“In Riddick: Furya, Riddick finally returns to his homeworld, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins,” reads Rocket Science’s synopsis. “But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new monster. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.”

Vin Diesel will reprise his role as Richard B. Riddick and serve a producer under his One Race Films banner. Furya marks Diesel’s fourth collaboration with David Twohy, the writer and director of Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Riddick (2013). Samantha Vincent, Joe Neurauter, Thank You Studios’ Lars Sylvest, and Rocket Science’s Thorsten Schumacher are on board as producers. Rocket Science is representing international sales rights, and CAA Media Finance is representing the North American rights.

Diesel’s recent credits include Fast X, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Bloodshot. He’s still in development on xXx 4, and in pre-production on Fast X: Part 2 which, according to director Louis Leterrier, is targeting a 2026 release.
