Watch Andy Serkis Transform in ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ Video

20th Century Fox’s new behind the scenes video features Andy Serkis, a master at motion capture performances, in a dramatic scene from War for the Planet of the Apes. The one minute video shows Andy Serkis in the motion capture suit and then with the full CG transformation into the ape, Caesar. In addition to Serkis, the War for the Planet of the Apes cast includes Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, and Terry Notary. War for the Planet of the Apes was written by Matt Reeves and Mark Bomback, with Reeves directing.

20th Century Fox will release the new Apes film in theaters on July 14, 2017.

The Plot: In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
