‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ New Clip: Introducing Nova

20th Century Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes has unveiled a new 2 1/2 minute clip featuring Nova, a young girl (played by Amiah Miller) who’s protected by Caesar (Andy Serkis). The clip has very little dialogue but packs quite an emotional punch while introducing a pivotal human character who’s taken in by the apes. Directed by Matt Reeves, the new Apes film is set to open in theaters on July 14, 2017.

The War for the Planet of the Apes cast also includes Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary. Mark Bomback and director Matt Reeves wrote the script and Peter Chernin, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver were involved as producers.

The Plot: In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
