The 40-second teaser for New Line Cinema’s Weapons gives nothing away other than confirming the film’s creepy vibe. Barbarian‘s Zach Cregger wrote and directed the horror/thriller opening in theaters on August 8, 2025.
Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan star. New Line Cinema offers this description of Weapons: “When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.”
Cregger serves as a producer along with Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules. Josh Brolin and Michelle Morrissey are the executive producers. Larkin Seiple is the director of photography, Tom Hammock is the production designer, Joe Murphy is the editor, and Trish Sommerville is the costume designer. Cregger collaborated with Ryan Holladay and Hays Holladay on the music.
