The second official trailer for Weapons seems to indicate that it’s not only kids who are affected by something strange going on in a small town. The new two-minute trailer once again shows kids disappearing but also focuses on adults acting strange and appearing to injure themselves.
Julia Garner (Ozark) stars as the teacher of all the students who disappeared. The film also stars Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.
“When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance,” reads New Line Cinema’s synopsis.
Barbarian‘s Zach Cregger wrote and directed, and serves as a producer. Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules also produce, with Josh Brolin and Michelle Morrissey executive producing. Cregger’s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy, and costume designer Trish Sommerville. Cregger, Ryan Holladay, and Hays Holladay wrote the music.
Weapons will open in theaters and IMAX on August 8, 2025.
