First Trailer for ‘Young Adult’ Starring Charlize Theron

Four-time Oscar nominee Jason Reitman (Up in the Air, Juno) directs Oscar winner Charlize Theron in the comedy/drama Young Adult from Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. Hitting theaters on December 9, 2011, Young Adult finds Theron playing a young adult novelist named Mavis Gary who heads back to her hometown to try and hook up with her high school sweetie (Patrick Wilson) who’s now a happily married man. Patton Oswalt co-stars as one of Mavis’ classmates who hasn’t gotten over high school yet either.

The Plot: Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.
