BTS Announce Anthology Album ‘Proof’ Will Arrive in June 2022

Rejoice BTS fans – the two-time Grammy-nominated group is back! On April 16, 2022, after the last concert of their Allegiant Stadium (in Las Vegas) run ended, the sold-out crowd remained standing and waited in anticipation of any news. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait long. A black and white video appeared on the giant screens featuring a montage of all the music videos BTS has released in their soon-to-be nine-year career. At the very end of the video, the audience heard the members say, “We are bulletproof.” That was followed by the date June 10, 2022.

The news dropped yesterday at 12am in South Korea (8am PT/11am ET) that the global superstars will be releasing an anthology album titled Proof on June 10th. The anthology album celebrates BTS’ nine-year journey since the group debuted on June 13, 2013. In addition to celebrating the nine years they have been together, this new album opens a gateway for a new chapter – their 10th year as artists. As described by Big Hit Music, “The new album will include various tracks that present BTS’ thoughts on their past, present, and future.”

Proof will also include three new songs.

For those unfamiliar with anthology albums, not only can they include songs from past albums but also live songs from past concerts. Some anthology albums feature never before heard demos or even a recording session when a song was made. There are endless possibilities in store with Proof, and BTS’ Army has taken to social media to express their high level of anticipation and excitement.

BTS hasn’t released an album since November 20, 2020 and since that date they’ve released two singles that smashed records and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart: “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” were released in May of 2021 and July 2021.

Hours after the news broke of the album’s name and confirmation it will be an anthology, Big Hit Music released a few more details about Proof. There will be two different versions of Proof. ‘Standard’ – the more expensive of the two options – will consist of 3-CDs, lyrics, “The Art of Proof,” poster, epilogue, photocard set, a random photocard, and more. ‘Compact’ will come with a booklet, CD plate, CD, one random photocard, and discovery guide. Full details are listed on the Weverse App.

While we anticipate the release of Proof, BTS is up for seven awards at this year’s Billboard Music Awards set to air on May 15th from Las Vegas, NV. BTS is nominated in the categories Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excludes US) Artist, Top Selling Song, (the group will be competing with themselves in this category with their songs “Butter” and “Permission to Dance”), Top Billboard Global (Excludes US) Song, and Top Rock Song “My Universe” for their collaboration with Coldplay.
