LL Cool J’s been busy acting and writing, but now he’s turning his attention back to music with the release of his 14th studio album. Authentic will hit stores on April 30, 2013 and LL kicked off the upcoming release with a performance of “Whaddup” on the Grammys.

LL Cool J was joined on stage at the star-studded event by Travis Barker (Blink-182), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Chuck D, and DJ Z-Trip.

“With Authentic, I wanted to work on a project that was for the true fans,” said LL. “I’m not trying to compete with 17-year-olds on the radio, but I am talking directly to the folks who came up with me. We may not be teenagers anymore, but we do still like to have fun.”

Tracks on Authentic include “Rachet,” “Take It,” and “Whaddup.”
