Pearl Jam scored their fifth number one album of their lengthy career with the release of their latest album, Lightning Bolt, which has earned the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top 200 list. The band’s 10th studio release sold more than 165,000 copies since hitting stores on October 15th, enough to earn it the distinction of being the biggest rock debut of the year.
In addition, the album is #1 on iTunes’ Overall Albums Chart as well as the Rock Albums Chart.
Currently Pearl Jam’s on the road in the U.S. promoting the album before heading off to New Zealand and Australia in early 2014. And Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is doing a five-day tribute to Pearl Jam culminating in performances by the band on October 24 and 25. Their music’s also being featured on Fox during the 2013 MLB World Series.
