BTS’s Suga Drops New “People Pt. 2” Single and Video

Suga of the five-time Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS released a new single titled “People Pt. 2” under his name Agust D at midnight on April 7, 2023. The track will be on his highly anticipated album D-Day dropping on April 21, 2023. This pre-release single features one of South Korea’s beloved artists, IU. The two have previously paired up on a track for IU titled “Eight” which not only featured Suga but was produced by him as well.

“People Pt.2 (feat. IU)” is described by Bighit Music as, “a boom bap rhythm-based pop R&B track featuring IU with her crystalline voice creating a beautiful balance overall. The track illustrates the constant repetition of states and emotions in relationships between people.”

The track arrived with a music video that gives off a similar vibe to a behind-the-scenes film. Suga is seen sipping coffee, getting lost in his thoughts, and fully immersing himself in music. The music video evokes a comforting and serene atmosphere that matches the overall mood of the song.

His upcoming album, D-Day, acts as the finale of the Agust D trilogy after his two previous mixtapes: Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020). Suga participated in the writing of all of the tracks and the overall production of D-Day, sharing the honest stories of Agust D as a musician and producer.

Suga won’t be slowing down anytime soon. It was announced by Disney+ on April 6 that there will be a new documentary, Road to D-Day, that follows Suga as he embarks on a musical journey while road-tripping around the world.

Fans will get to see the ins and outs of his creative process working on his highly anticipated solo album set to be released on the same day as the film. The documentary also shows candid conversations between artists as it features star-studded guests with who’ve either collaborated with or who Suga’s had close encounters with. The film also invites viewers to a special experience of Suga’s live solo performance clips which have rarely been seen.

If you think that’s all…wait, there’s more! Suga announced back on February 15, 2023 that he will be embarking on n his first solo world tour. The Suga | Agust D tour kicks off on April 26, 2023 in New York. Tickets for most dates are on sale now.
