The Constellations New Album and Tour Dates

The Constellations Do It For Free

Atlanta rockers The Constellations released their first album with 429 records, Do It For Free, on July 12th. The follow up to Southern Gothic, Do It For Free was inspired by their months spent on the road touring. In addition, the group’s leader, Elijah Jones, was involved in the Occupy Movement and the title as well as some of the songs were inspired by the 99 Percenters and the band’s “dedication and love for playing live no matter what the costs or profit.”

Details on The Constellations [Courtesy of 429 Records]:

Led by Elijah Jones, and featuring Wes Hoffman (bass), Travis Phillips (guitar), James Gordon (keyboards), and Shane Hoffman (drums) — the band reinforce their reputation for hard-swinging alt beats but have honed their musical outlook by concentrating on muscular grooves and a more soulful melodicism. Produced by Andy Rose, the swirling funk anchored by the B3 and Fender Rhodes Organ provides the perfect backdrop for the band’s trademark gritty songwriting.
