Kevin Hart kicked off his debut as host of the MTV Video Music Awards by talking about Snooki’s baby and by addressing Kristen Stewart’s cheating ways. Telling the audience to just leave her alone, he suggested that she and Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders had basically created two new dwarfs: Adultery and Cheating. Anyway…on to the music and awards.

Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, P!nk, and Green Day all delivered the first performances of new songs on stage at the VMAs. And One Direction – the night’s big winner in three categories – Frank Ocean, 2 Chainz and Calvin Harris all made their VMA performance debuts.
