Comic-Con 2013 – Saturday TV and Movies Schedule

Comic book films are well represented on the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con Saturday schedule, with studios showing off the Thor and Captain America sequels as well as the new 300 story. The Hunger Games cast is set to make their first appearance at the annual sold-out geekfest and fairy tale stories and vampires (but not the sparkling kind) will be in the spotlight on Saturday, July 20, 2013.

A&E Bates Motel – 10am, Room 6A

The Bates Motel is open for business in San Diego! Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin will release new footage from the highly acclaimed A&E drama series Bates Motel exclusively for Comic Con attendees. The executive producers will be joined by the cast, including Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (Norma Bates), Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates), Max Thieriot (Dylan), Olivia Cooke (Emma), and Nestor Carbonell (Sheriff Alex Romero) to discuss the show’s unique backstory and creation. Fans will get an opportunity to hear more about season 2, debuting in 2014 on A&E, and will have a chance to ask the cast and creators questions during a Q&A.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Down the Rabbit Hole – 10:15am, Ballroom 20

Co-creators and executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz introduce the world premiere screening of their newest series, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. This strange new land takes you to the other side of the rabbit hole, where you’ll meet Alice, the Knave of Hearts, the White Rabbit and a host of other characters. Q&A as well as surprise guests will follow the screening. You won’t want to miss who shows up at this panel!

Marvel Television Presents – 10:30am, Room 6BCF

It’s the biggest, most animated Marvel Television panel ever! Join Marvel’s head of television, Jeph Loeb, for the latest from inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD, including what’s next for Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man, a new episode of the hit series Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, and the world premiere of Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H..

Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures Panel – 10:45am, Hall H

Legendary Pictures: Godzilla — An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are the executive producers, alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

Legendary Pictures: Seventh Son — The fantasy action adventure Seventh Son takes audiences to a time long past, where evil is about to be unleashed. Jeff Bridges stars as Master Gregory, a Falcon Knight who imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore) years ago. Now escaped, she seeks vengeance, and Gregory has only until the next blood moon to train a new apprentice (Ben Barnes), the seventh son of a seventh son, to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Oscar nominee Sergei Bodrov directs an international cast that includes Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue, and Djimon Hounsou. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

Warner Bros. Pictures: 300: Rise of an Empire — From producer Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present a new chapter in this epic saga, based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes and told in the same breathtaking visual style as the blockbuster 300. Directed by Noam Murro, 300: Rise of an Empire takes the action to a fresh battlefield-on the sea-with a cast of both new and returning stars, led by Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, and Rodrigo Santoro. Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, and Bernie Goldmann produce, with Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad again collaborating on the screenplay.

Warner Bros. Pictures: Gravity — From director Alfonso Cuarón comes the sci-fi thriller Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, alongside veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). On a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes, leaving them completely alone-tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further into the terrifying expanse of space.

Warner Bros. Pictures: The LEGO Movie — From directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller of 21 Jump Street comes the first ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure, The LEGO Movie, about a perfectly average LEGO minifigure named Emmet who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. The original 3D computer animated story stars Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie, with Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.

Gravity Falls – 11am, Room 7AB

Creator and executive producer Alex Hirsch, creative director Michael Rianda, and series stars Jason Ritter and Kristin Schaal uncover the mysteries of Disney Channel’s hit series Gravity Falls. Find out what’s in store for television’s spookiest town with an exclusive clip from the show’s exciting season finale and an audience Q&A. The panel will feature a sneak peek of Wander Over Yonder, the new series coming from Craig McCracken (Powerpuff Girls).

Once Upon a Time: Off to Neverland – 11am, Ballroom 20

Co-creators and executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz take you on a journey to Neverland. If the season finale left you wanting more, you will not want to miss this opportunity for an exclusive sneak peek at what’s to come. Questions will be answered. Secrets will be revealed. We’re dooooooooomed! An epic panel for the ages will celebrate Futurama‘s latest and greatest final season. On hand will be most or all of Futurama’s legendary voice cast, consisting of Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Phil LaMarr, and Lauren Tom, performing never-before-heard scenes from the upcoming “Last Episode Ever.” Plus executive producer David X. For the first time ever, the hit sitcom visits Comic-Con to kick off its final season with an exclusive look at the show and a panel featuring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alyson Hannigan and executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, and Pamela Fryman.

The Simpsons – 12:45pm, Ballroom 20

Celebrate The Simpsons‘ 25th year on the air with creator Matt Groening, executive producer Al Jean, supervising director Mike Anderson, and consulting producer David Silverman, enjoy never-before seen footage from guest director Guillermo del Toro, and hear musical guests perform “We Put The Spring In Springfield!”

The Originals Special Video Presentation and Q&A – 1pm, Indigo Ballroom Hilton San Diego Bayfront

From the executive producer of The CW’s #1 series and Comic-Con fan favorite The Vampire Diaries comes The Originals, a sexy new drama centering on the Original Family and the dangerous vampire/werewolf hybrid, Klaus, who returns to the magical melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans-a town he helped build centuries ago-where he is reunited with his diabolical former protégé, Marcel, a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of the Crescent City. I, Frankenstein stars Aaron Eckhart and Yvonne Strahovski appear with film director/writer Stuart Beattie and graphic novel author/writer Kevin Grevioux. Plus, the cast of the highly anticipated second installment of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire comes to Hall H for the first time. Never-before-seen footage is showcased from both films. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery, and humor, the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated True Blood kicked off its sixth season June 16 on HBO. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Oscar and Golden Globe award winner Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts and vampires Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård). Person of Interest Special Video Presentation and Q&A – 4pm, Room 6BCF

Executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman are joined by the series stars for a special video presentation and Q&A. Join the discussion, as the science “fiction” in Person of Interest becomes reality with recent real-world events. The Vampire Diaries Special Video Presentation and Q&A – 4:30pm, Ballroom 20

The CW’s #1 series returns in the fall for its fifth season, promising twists, turns and-of course-(love) triangles in this new chapter for our heroes, post-graduation. After failing to foil Malcolm Merlyn’s undertaking, Oliver Queen and team look to get back on track by crossing another name off the list: Comic-Con 2013. Arrow series stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, and Colton Haynes — with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg-will take aim at San Diego with a special video presentation and panel discussion previewing the show’s upcoming and much-buzzed-about second season, which will center on Oliver’s transformation from vigilante to hero. The Tomorrow People Pilot Screening and Q&A – 5:55pm, Room 6BCF

Sure, teleporting into San Diego remedies many stresses associated with Comic-Con, and knowing fans’ questions before they are ever asked would certainly seem to give them a leg up, but that doesn’t mean The Tomorrow People are any less excited about their inaugural visit to the world’s premier fan convention. Series stars Robbie Amell, Peyton List, and Mark Pellegrino, along with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Phil Klemmer, and Danny Cannon, will be on hand for a special pilot screening, followed by a Q&A to discuss this story of several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution. The hit action series kicks off its third season with a panel featuring stars Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Dougray Scott, newcomer Milauna Jackson, and co-executive producer/writer/director Michael J. Bassett. The thriller follows stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20 as it spans the globe to stop potential threats, led by key operatives Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott. In the upcoming season, the team uncovers a plot that threatens the West and pursues a deadly terrorist network with ties to powerful drug cartels, from South America to the Middle East and Europe. Lost Girl Season 3 and Beyond – 7:15pm, Room 6BCF

Prodigy Pictures and Giant Ape Media present a fae-tastic panel with cast members Kris Holden-Ried (Dyson), Ksenia Solo (Kenzi), and Zoie Palmer (Lauren), joined by Jay Firestone (executive producer) and Emily Andras (executive producer) for a Q&A session moderated by producer Vanessa Piazza. Get behind-the-scenes tidbits and the first sneak peek at Season 4.

Femme Fatales Revealed – 8:15pm, Room 6DE

Go behind the scenes of the show that Entertainment Weekly hails as “a badass chick anthology series” and The Huffington Post calls “Pulpy Fun.” Inspired by film noir, graphic novels, and pulp fiction, the stars and creators celebrate the DVD release of the show’s hit second season from eOne Home Entertainment with some special giveaways, including season 1 DVDs and soundtrack albums. On stage, meet your favorite guest stars, including Dean Haglund and Reggie Hayes, and stunning femmes fatales Nikki Griffin, Kristen DeLuca, Jen Roa, and composer Joe Kraemer, along with series creators Mark A.
