MTV Announces the Live Music Day Festival Lineup

MTV Logo50+ bands will be featured as part of the Live Music Day Festival – part of the O Music Awards – as just announced by MTV/VH1/CMT. The largest online/mobile music festival is set to take place June 19, 2013 and lasts for 24 hours. All different genres will be represented as part of the festival, according to MTV.

“O Music Awards have always served as a content lab to explore telling stories across multiple screens,” stated Dermot McCormack, head of connected content for Viacom Music and LOGO Group. “With this iteration, we’ve created the first-of-its-kind music festival that’s both connecting artists and fans and allowing them to participate in the awards and festival in new ways.”

Comedians Randy and Jason Sklar have been tapped to host the O Music Awards this year. Categories included in the O Music Awards represent the “current state of music, culture and technology” and include “Digital Genius,” “Fan Army FTW,” “Best Web-Born Artist,” “Must Follow Artist on Twitter,” “Best Music App,” “Too Much Ass For TV” and “Best Artist Instagram.” New categories just added this year are “Next Big Scene,” “Most Inspiring Fan Outreach,” “Analog Genius,” and the “Friday, Friday Award.”

This year’s nominees are led by Frank Ocean and Beck with two nominations each. Other nominees include Justin Bieber, Pussy Riot, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miranda Lambert, Ed Sheeran, ?uestlove, Tyler the Creator, Demi Lovato and David Bowie.
