Mariah Carey and Tim McGraw will have some company on the 4th of July. NBC says Taylor Swift, Cher, Pitbull, and Selena Gomez have all committed to performing on the network’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular airing on July 4th at 8pm. Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, is hosting the special with Usher working with Macy’s pyrotechnic teams to create the fireworks extravaganza.
Per the network, the 37th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks event will, for the first time in its history, work with an artist (Usher) as part of the team curating the overall design of the show. Usher provided input on the musical selections and put “his visionary stamp on the nation’s biggest Independence Day party.”
The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks display uses more than 40,000 fireworks and is considered the nation’s largest patriotic pyrotechnic display.
