Online nominee voting for the 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards has just opened up. The annual awards event chooses nominees and winners based solely on votes by fans and recognizes fan favs in films, television, music, and other assorted categories. Fans can cast their votes now through October 31, 2013 at 11:59pm ET with the top five nominees in each category announced on November 5, 2013 at 9am PT live from the Paley Center in Beverly Hills.
The 2014 People’s Choice Awards will consist of 54 categories including all the normal best actor, actress, and artist choices. And as with in previous years, the People’s Choice Awards added in a few new categories this year as suggested by fans:

MUSIC:
Favorite Alternative Artist
Favorite Country Music Icon
TV:
Favorite On-Screen Chemistry
Favorite Sci/Fi Fantasy Star
Favorite Streaming Series
Favorite TV Movie/Miniseries

The 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards will air on CBS on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
