20 Films Move Forward in the Animated Oscar Race

20 animated feature films are in the running for Oscars consideration according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Not all of the films on the list have had their qualifying run in LA, which is mandatory in order to be eligible for the category.

The 2015 Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. Nominees will be announced on January 15th at 5:30am PT.

The animated feature films that have been submitted are:

“The Boxtrolls”
“Cheatin’”
“Giovanni’s Island”
“Henry & Me”
“The Hero of Color City”
“How to Train Your Dragon 2”
“Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart”

“The Lego Movie”
“Minuscule – Valley of the Lost Ants”
“Mr. Peabody & Sherman”
“Penguins of Madagascar”
“The Pirate Fairy”
“Planes: Fire & Rescue”
“Rio 2”
“Rocks in My Pockets”
“Song of the Sea”
“The Tale of the Princess Kaguya”
