Voting Opens to Select 2015 People’s Choice Awards Categories

2015 People's Choice Awards Date and New Categories

CBS will air the People’s Choice Awards live (delayed on the West Coast) on January 7, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, with the annual awards show/popularity contest once again taking place at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Mark Burnett, who returns as an executive producer, made the announcement, saying, “What an honor it is to be back producing the People’s Choice Awards for the 6th year in a row. This awards show has grown from 62 million votes five years ago to over 700 million votes for 2014. These awards are from the fans who actually watch TV shows, buy movie tickets and download music. It’s the one awards show that truly is all about the fans.”

In addition to announcing the date of the 2015 show, CBS announced voting is now open to select new awards categories. Fans of the show can vote to see one or more of six new categories added to the 2015 awards show. The potential new categories are:

– “Favorite Comedic Movie Ensemble”
– “Favorite Action Movie Ensemble”
– “Favorite TV Dramedy”
– “Favorite Crossover Artist”
– “Favorite Country Music Group”
– “Favorite TV Character We Miss Most”

Fans can also sound off on who should win the “Favorite Humanitarian” award.
