The Academy Reveals Its 2013-2014 Board of Governors

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced its Board of Governors, with 10 first-timers, eight incumbents, and one previous governor (Mark Johnson) confirmed as members of the 2013-2014 Board. The Academy (those people who are thanked every year at the Oscars) is made up of 16 branches, and each branch has three governors. Governors are limited to three three-year terms.

The First-Time Governors:
– Judianna Makovsky and Deborah Nadoolman (Costume Designers Branch)
– Rick Carter and Jan Pascale (Designers Branch)
– Alex Gibney (Documentary)
– Lynzee Klingman (Film Editors)
– Amy Pascal (Executives)
– Kathryn Blondell and Bill Corso (Makeup Artists and Hairstylists)
– Nancy Utley (Public Relations)

Re-Elected Governors:
– Ed Begley, Jr. (Actors Branch)
– John Bailey (Cinematographers)
– Kathryn Bigelow (Directors)
– Charles Fox (Music)
– Jon Bloom (Short Films and Feature Animation)
– Curt Behlmer (Sound)
– Richard Edlund (Visual Effects)
– Robin Swicord (Writers)

The other governor spots are filled by members who were not up for election this year.
