Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood‘s sexy Viking vampire), Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, and Margot Robbie star in the 3D live-action adventure movie Tarzan which has just begun shooting at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden. David Yates, director of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the Half Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows 1 and 2, is at the helm and David Barron (the Harry Potter films) and Jerry Weintraub are producing the Warner Bros/Village Roadshow Pictures release which is targeting a July 1, 2016 release date.

Skarsgard is handling the title role in the film based on the characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The cast also includes John Hurt and Djimon Hounsou.

The Plot:

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
