Allison Janney Joins the ‘Masters of Sex’ Cast>

Emmy-winner Allison Janney (The West Wing) has signed up to guest star on Showtime’s new drama series Masters of Sex. The series will debut on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 10pm and stars Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, Beau Bridges, and Margo Martindale.

According to Showtime, Janney will have a five-episode arc. She’ll be playing Beau Bridges’ character’s wife.

Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles. John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) directed and executive produced the pilot episode. The series is based on the Thomas Maier book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love.

The Plot: Masters of Sex stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, who will portray the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine.
