Fans were allowed to choose one booted American Idol contestant to vote as a member of the American Idol Live! tour and after the millions of online votes were cast a winner has been chosen. Aubrey Cleland was selected as the former contestant who will join the top 10 on tour.
Cleland is a 19 year old singer from West Linn, Oregon who was the sixth runner-up this season. Cleland beat out 17 year old singer Charlie Askew from Little Rock, Arkansas after performing in a sing-off followed by online voting by AI fans.
The American Idol Live! Tour will take place this summer featuring the top 10 finalists along with Aubrey Cleland.
Tonight’s American Idol:
The live results show will reveal which of the Top 10 finalists will be sent home. In addition, season 11’s Jessica Sanchez and Ne-Yo will be performing Sanchez’ single, “Tonight.” Season six’s Casey Abrams is also set to perform The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.”
