The CW’s Arrow just added another interesting character to the mix with the addition of Talia al Ghul. Lexa Doig has signed on to play Talia, the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul and half-sister of Nyssa (played by Katrina Law). According to the network, Talia al Ghul will first appear on Arrow‘s 10th episode of season five, currently airing on Wednesday nights at 8pm ET/PT. The CW also offered up this character description: “Talia is an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.”
Doig’s credits include roles in Continuum, V, Saving Hope, Artic, Air, and Smallville.
It’s unknown how Talia will interact with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow, and whether the character will be an anti-hero or a full-on villain. She was definitely a villain in the most recent incarnation of the character on the screen as played by Marion Cotillard in the final film of The Dark Knight trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.
The announcement of Lexa Doig joining the cast as Arrow comes just a day after Variety broke the news Juliana Harkavy (The Walking Dead, Constantine) has boarded Arrow in the recurring role of Tina Boland. Variety reported Harkavy will appear in the second half of season five as a former Central City detective who doesn’t like vigilantes and isn’t easily impressed.
