Baby Daddy will be sticking around for another season. ABC Family just announced the popular comedy series has been renewed for season three. The news comes ahead of season two’s premiere set for May 29, 2013 at 8:30pm.

According to ABC Family, Baby Daddy was the #1 new cable comedy during the summer of 2012 among important female demos. The series, starring Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, Melissa Peterman, and Chelsea Kane, recently wrapped up shooting season two in front of a studio audience in Los Angeles.

Announcing the show’s renewal, ABC Family President Michael Riley stated: “Baby Daddy was an immediate success when it launched. Based on the creative strength we saw during production on season two, and how the episodes, storylines and characters are developing, we decided to double down on this hit show and keep it in production for additional episodes. We have a great deal of faith that our brilliant creative team and wonderful cast will continue to warm our hearts and make us laugh each week.”

The Plot:

Baby Daddy follows Ben (Bilodeau), a young man in his early 20s living the life of a bachelor as a bartender in New York City with his buddy, Tucker (Mowry), and his brother, Danny (Theler), a professional hockey player. Their lives are turned upside down when they come home one day to find a baby girl left on the doorstep by an ex-girlfriend of Ben’s.

After much deliberation, Ben decides to raise the baby with the help of his friends and his protective and sometimes over-bearing mother, Bonnie (Peterman), and his close female friend, Riley (Kane), who has had a secret crush on him since childhood. Riley is hopeful that Ben will finally take notice, but she doesn’t realize that Ben’s brother, Danny, is harboring a secret crush on her.
