Cinemax will premiere its new action series Banshee on January 11, 2013 as announced today by the network. The series is executive produced by Alan Ball (True Blood), Greg Yaitanes, Peter Macdissi, Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, and stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, and Rus Blackwell.
Tropper and Schickler wrote the scripts, with Yaitanes, S.J. Clarkson, Ole Madsen, Dean White, and Miguel Sapochnik directing.
The Plot:
Starr plays Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pa., where he continues his criminal activities, even as he’s hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.
The series was shot in and around Charlotte, North Carolina.
