‘Beat Shazam’ Hosted by Jamie Foxx is Renewed for Season 2

Fox’s addictive new music game show Beat Shazam has earned a second season. Currently airing on Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT, the music-driven half hour game show is hosted and executive produced by Jamie Foxx. Announcing the renewal, Fox Broadcasting Company President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials Rob Wade confirmed Foxx will be back for the second season.

“Jamie is the ultimate host and entertainer,” said Wade. “He’s a larger-than-life personality, with a passion for music that’s infectious, and we can’t wait to have him return for another great round of Beat Shazam in Season Two.”


Season one’s been averaging 4.4 million viewers and is the “most social new TV series” of the summer, according to Fox. In addition to host Jamie Foxx, Beat Shazam‘s brought in big-name guest stars including Snoop Dogg, Odell Beckham Jr, and Terrence Howard. Next up is Mariah Carey who will join the show for the July 13, 2017 episode’s “Divas” round.

The Plot: The interactive music game show pits teams of two against the clock and each other as they attempt to identify the biggest hit songs of all time. In the end, the team with the most money banked will outlast the competition and go against Shazam, the world’s most popular song identification app, for the chance to win one million dollars. In addition to Carey, the series has featured a number of celebrity guest stars, including Snoop Dogg, Terrence Howard and Odell Beckham, Jr.
