Tony Award-winner Bernadette Peters will be lending her unusually distinctive voice to the 3D CG animated family film, Dorothy of Oz, from Summertime Entertainment. Peters will be providing the voice of Glinda, “the powerful sorceress who once granted Dorothy Gale’s wish to go back to Kansas.”

“To have Bernadette Peters as ‘Glinda’ is such a treat,” said Will Finn, one of the film’s directors. “She epitomizes the character who is known by Oz fans worldwide to have a very caring and generous heart.”

“‘Glinda’ and I have the same heart and soul,'” stated Peters, adding, “Her hair has a mind of its own like mine!”

Summertime Entertainment also announced Peters and Lea Michele, who voices the role of Dorothy, will be singing a duet on the Dorothy of Oz soundtrack.

In addition to Michele and Peters, the voice cast of Dorothy of Oz includes Martin Short (The Jester), Jim Belushi (Lion), Dan Aykroyd (Scarecrow), Kelsey Grammer (Tin Man), Megan Hilty (China Princess), Hugh Dancy (Marshal Mallow), Oliver Platt (Wiser the Owl), and Patrick Stewart (Tugg).
