Beyonce is Confirmed for the Super Bowl

The NFL has officially confirmed what was already known – Beyonce will perform during the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime show. The 2013 Super Bowl will take place in New Orleans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday, February 3rd and will air on CBS.

The 16-time Grammy winner follows in the footsteps of Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 who all took to the stage during the year’s biggest televised sports event. Last year, 112.5+ million people in the U.S. tuned in to catch the football action (and the commercials).

Next year’s Super Bowl halftime show will be directed by Hamish Hamilton and executive produced by Ricky Kirshner.
