In a bit of inspired voice casting, Jon Favreau’s tapped Bill Murray to play Baloo in Disney’s The Jungle Book. Murray joins a cast that is led by newcomer Neel Sethi and includes Christopher Walken, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Giancarlo Esposito, Idris Elba, and Scarlett Johansson.
Sethi will be the only live-action actor on the screen. Walken’s playing King Louie, Esposito is Akela, Kingsley is Bagheera, Nyong’o is Raksha, Idris Elba is Shere Khan, and Johansson is Kaa.
Justin Marks wrote the script and Disney’s aiming for an October 9, 2015 release date.
