NBC has tapped popular trainer Bob Harper to take on the job of hosting the next season of The Biggest Loser. Harper’s been involved in the show since the series began, and the network says he’ll continue to work with contestants and use his expertise to help them reach their weight loss goals along with handling hosting duties.

“I’m super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser,” said Harper, commenting on his new hosting gig. “I’ve been with the show since season one, so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel.”

Trainers Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom are also confirmed to return for season 17. The new season marks Quince’s sixth season with the series, while Widerstrom’s a relative newcomer, with season 17 just her second with the show.

Filming will get underway this month. The season 17 premiere date hasn’t been set.
