Disney’s Beauty and the Beast showed little sign of slowing down at the box office, finishing first in its second weekend in release with $88 million domestically. By ringing up $88 million in week two, Beauty and the Beast moved into fourth place on the list of all-time best second weekends. Directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as The Beast, this live-action version of the classic tale has now brought in $690 million worldwide.

Lionsgate has reason to be happy about the new Power Rangers film which opened on Friday, March 24, 2017. The revival of the popular franchise performed better than expected, snagging $40 million domestically. Warner Bros and Sony have less reason to celebrate their new releases, with Life (despite the appeal of Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal) arriving to relatively lifeless numbers while CHIPS couldn’t even muster a top five finish.

Opening next weekend: Ghost in the Shell, Boss Baby, and The Zookeeper’s Wife (in limited release).
